This is pretty much the what I’ve heard from folks who’ve seen this movie. Personally I won’t be wasting my money.

Speaking of money: Avatar is being ridiculously reported to as a possible contender for the highest grossing movie EVER… (current champion being Titanic) Lets break that down a bit, shall we?

Average cost of a movie ticket in 1997, when Titanic was released: $4.59
Average cost of a 3D movie ticket in 2009, Avatar’s release date: $9.50
Production cost for Titanic (again in 1997): $200Million
Production cost for Avatar: $280Million

This is really a no-brainer. At that ticket price, my brain reduces that math to this: Avatar would have to cost upwards of $400million to even be on the same playing field as Titanic.

Don’t misunderstand. I am merely comparing Avatar to Titanic because the media is, I DO love the movie but it just happens to be the current champion.

In case you were wondering, the estimated budget for Disney’s Pocahontas is $55Million.

Wikileaks: “we will release over half a million 9/11 intercepts”

Starting at 3AM Eastern time on Wednesday, Wikileaks plans to publish over half a million US national text pager intercepts related to 9/11. The messages are said to come from devices used by persons operating in an official capacity (including Pentagon and NYPD), and cover a 24 hour period surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.

Okay, so I adore NotMartha. I read her blog, I follow her tweets, she’s creative and a great writer. Last night she unleashed Meat Hand onto the unsuspecting Twit-a-sphere.

Okay, the idea of a loaf of meat, to me, is disgusting enough. Don’t get me wrong I love me some meat, but the thought of a ‘loaf’ of it is wholly unsettling. Well, leave it to Megan to take it a step further…

She’s a friggin’ genius! Personally, I am not going to make this for any dinner, but I sure hope somebody does. What gets me is the onion posing as a wrist bone… and well, the onion fingernails.

The Flatshare Fridge

What a cool idea. Thought I’d share:

You can put the “Don’t Eat Me!” and “This Is Not Yours!” notes away for now. Stefan Buchberger, a design student at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (my childhood home!) has designed the Flatshare Fridge — a fridge made of up individual, stackable units so that each person gets his or her own refrigerator space. We’re seriously wondering why this hasn’t been developed before. Just think how many roommate relationships have been devastated because of a missing sandwich?

The Power Hog

Getting my kids to appreciate how much money they actually waste is tough. They throw away perfectly good food, leave lights and TVs on and wear clothes for 10 minutes and then I find them in the laundry. All very frustrating. I get tired of nagging them. Thirteen for Beau

This Thursday 13 is about the man I have fallen in love with

1. Even though it must have been terribly difficult, he took a chance with me and told me something he was not proud of, something that does not shed a positive light on him & something that he knew was going to change the course of our relationship. He was open and honest about this very early in our relationship, and I love him for that.

2. Our trip to Tennessee. To me it showed trust, spontaneity & the willingness to not only welcome me into his life, but his eagerness to show me things that are important to him. We took this trip one month into our relationship.

3. He has never shied away from talking about the future. From day one he has been proud that I would be apart of it. I love him for looking forward WITH me.

4. My daughter adores him. She sees him several times a week for lunch. They chat and kid around. I think he is pretty smitten with her, too.

5. Beau has a great sense of humor. That always been attractive to me. He can easily make me laugh, even when I don’t want to, and I love him for that.

6. He is a hard worker. Besides him being handsome physically, the fact that he is hardworking & is proud to do a good job makes him irresistible.

7. I love how he is patient with me and all my baggage. Between the two of us, we have more issues than Playboy but each one adds dynamic to our relationship and he handles each one with grace.

8. Early on in our relationship we had some hard choices to make. He has been understanding and respectful of my ideas & he supports my decisions in all things. I know that he is on my side.

9. His Daughters Alexia & Eva Mae. Between the two of us we have the 4 most awesome things in the world! (really wish I had a pic of the 4 of them together right now)

10. He gets passionate about pool. He is really good at it and I have a good time watching him. There is nothing sexier than a man doing something he is passionate about.

11. I have known Beau for nearly 2 decades. During that time he has been faithful and loyal to his friends and family. In the time that I have known him he has been able to hold on to the many friendships he has made and does what he can to show

that these bonds are important to him. Loyalty and faithfulness are respectable traits, by me

12. Beau is open and emotionally available to me. This, to me, is necessary and non-negotiable for a happy, healthy relationship. Somethings cannot be taught
